Simply Elegant was my first retail job, a bridal and special-occasion boutique in my hometown.
I wrote those words when I was seventeen.
Long before The Style CV™ existed.
I've always romanticized life.
Finding beauty in the little details, and believing that even the most ordinary days deserve a little intention. I was the girl who wore collared dress shirts while everyone else wore sweats, and who saved for months to take her graduation trip to Paris, because fashion, beauty, and experiencing the world have always felt intertwined.
Getting dressed was never about impressing anyone. It was about expressing myself, honouring the moment, and finding joy in the everyday.
A career built on clothing, and the people who wear it
My first job in fashion was at Simply Elegant, a beautiful bridal and special-occasion boutique in my hometown. That's where I first saw how the right piece could change the way a woman carried herself on one of the biggest days of her life.
From there, I went on to study at fashion school, earned a Joint Honours degree in Communications and Sociology, and spent 15 years in retail and fashion, including managing women's wear at Nordstrom.
Long before The Style CV™ existed, I was helping women navigate fitting rooms, discover flattering silhouettes, and find clothing for life's milestone moments. That experience taught me something no trend report ever could: great style isn't about the perfect body, the biggest wardrobe, or following every rule. It's about understanding the person wearing the clothes.
Finding my way back
Life eventually took me in another direction. I built a career in government, became a wife and a mother, and somewhere between building a life I loved and caring for everyone in it, I began putting myself further down the list.
But the dream never left.
The Style CV™ was born from a lifetime in fashion and a deeply personal understanding of how easy it is for women to lose sight of themselves in the everyday.
Today, as a Master Colour Analyst and Holistic Image Consultant, I combine formal training, years of hands-on experience, and a genuine understanding of the women I work with to offer something that goes far beyond a colour palette or a shopping trip. My approach is thoughtful, personal, and rooted in the belief that style should reflect who you are, not who the world expects you to be.
Because life is worth dressing up for, and you don't need a special occasion to feel beautiful.

She has a natural gift for helping women feel comfortable from the moment they walk through the door, creating an experience that feels relaxed, and welcoming.
Through Express Colour Analysis and Virtual Colour Analysis, Carley helps women discover the colours that naturally enhance their features while giving them practical tools they can confidently use every day.
She understands that for many women, taking the first step can feel intimidating. Her goal is to make that first step feel exciting.
